Grace Adele With The Averys At Vic's!

Howdy Folks-
The Averys are pleased to welcome Ms Grace Adele to join us at Vic's this weekend. You know Grace from seein' her on stages around town with her Grand Band and also with Sweet & Lonesome. She was one of the first folks in town to give The Averys a chance to play for y'all when she invited us on to the bill for a show she was having at The Thirsty Ear last year. You can check out her My Space page using the link in the list below. So now you know it's gonna be a great show This Saturday night, with singer-slash-songwriter Joshua James, Ms Grace Adele and The Averys. Check it out!

Giddyap!

Well, folks, we couldn't have asked for a better turnout for last night's first Round Up. Literally, because we did in fact ask repeatedly for a good turnout, and y'all certainly obliged us.
You came on down and drank plenty of CBC beer and showed our performers what a fine country music audience we have here in Columbus.

Jamie Lyn was a delight, and Jake, Dusty and I were pleased to sit in and provide her with a little backup. She is a great pure country songwriter- she writes 'em in the classic style- with a sharp wit and a powerful singing voice. We are pleased that she will be coming back to join us for the December Round Up, so you don't want to miss her then.

Dottie and Clyde really captured our attention when we played a show with them last August at The Ohio State Fair, and what really stuck with me from their performance was their beautiful two part vocal harmonies. Those vocal harmonies are probably my favorite element of the old country arrangements, and it's not a lot of acts that can sing them so convincingly as Dottie and Clyde. Performing as a guitar and mandolin duo, they manage to sound like a much bigger band. I can't recommend them highly enough, and we're hopeful that they'll come back and join us for another Round Up down the line.

We'll be lining up next month's show still, so if you or someone you know might be a good fit for the show, just let us know and we'll be happy to hear you. Meanwhile, thanks again for a great show and we'll see you next month.

Here's mud in yer eye!

Here's To You!

Howdy Folks!
Here's to you, Country Music Fans! I know y'all are 'bout tired of hearin' us flog this show we've got set for tomorrow evening, and I appreciate all y'all's patience while we get this thing put together. Sometimes folks want you to come out to their show and they bug so much you'd just as soon give 'em the cover charge if only they'd just leave you alone. It's my obligation, though, on behalf of my fine and talented band mates, and our friends who are sharing the bill, to remind you that tomorrow is our first Ranch Party Round Up at The Thirsty Ear in Grandview. I wouldn't even bother to promote this show if I wasn't 100% positive that it is going to be a great evening of music. I've played shows that I knew were stinkers over the years, and I never tried to drag anyone out there if I didn't think they'd have a have a good time.
Now, I've got some four-meat chili on the stovetop, and I've got to get in there and see how it's doin'. I need to get fortified for the show. We'll see you there:

Welcome Jamie Lyn To The Round Up

Folks-
The Averys and I have been looking forward to bringing you The Round Up. I mean, we started this whole website for it and everything. We always knew we had a good show for you, but now we have an even better show with the addition of Jamie Lyn to the lineup.

Jamie Lyn alternates hilarious, stinging songs of comic pathos with graceful, raw-hearted ballads. A Brooklyn country veteran and founder of the NYC alt-country female songwriters' showcase "Honky Tonk Angels", Jamie Lyn channels June Carter and Loretta Lynn in her own brand of "Deep Woods Off" country. Her songs careen from honky-tonk to traditional bluegrass to foot-stompin’ countrypolitan and a good time is guaranteed by all. Keep an eye on this honky tonk maverick's upcoming project, Fort Knox. http://www.myspace.com/theredtailhawks.

So now if any of y'all were on the fence about comin' out on Sunday, you don't have any excuses. That's Dottie and Clyde, Jamie Lyn and Slim White and The Averys all on one bill, with no cover charge, Seth spinning classic country tunes, CBC drink specials, and early enough so's you can get home in time to see Dragnet.
