TONIGHT! LAST CHANCE TO HEAR THE AVERYS!

Well, it is your last chance to hear the Averys if you are going to be Raptured. If you are going to Hell, then we will see you there. We actually have a number of pretty smokin' dates lined up in Hell, so you will have your pick. And don't forget- the only thing they have to drink in Hell is Whiskey, and not even the good kind. It is Old Crow label, the official whisky of Slim White and The Averys.

But seriously, folks, come out to Mulligan's tonight to catch a full three sets of Traditional Country Music from Slim White and The Averys. We are playing pretty much every song we know plus about four or five songs that we don't know. It will be enough Averys for you, your Mother In Law and your Mule. And that skeevy chick in the parking lot if you are fool enough to bring her along.

Opening the night will be our good friend and loyal Independent Local Country Music Practitioner Zachariah Whitney, of Slick city and Brothers fame, with a set of his own Traditional Country classics and originals. Zach is a great performer and songwriter and he will get your evening started off right!

Mulligan's is at 8743 Smoky Row Road in Powell, 43065. Music starts at 9 PM. There is a 5 dollar cover but that is only because we are trying to make a record and somebody has to pay for it.

Cheers!

Slick City Headline The Round Up!

Howdy Folks. You know, I try not to start promoting these shows too far in advance, because I think y'all might forget about them or maybe feel like we are pestering you to come out. Also I am disorganized and lazy. So you can see that I have waited until the possible minute to write this blog. I believe this strategy lends a sense of urgency to my mission.

So here is the scoop: It is Mother's Day and our man Jake "Jake" Cheshire is in his home state of Florida, gone to visit his Mom. We knew that we would not be able to play a show without Jake, so when we needed to find an act to fill in as host and headliner, the first name that came up was The Slick City Ramblers. We played a show with them last week at Skully's and they tore that place up. The Ramblers project is ever expanding and additions to their line up are giving them more sonic impact, but the core of the music is the songs that Zach is writing, his powerful voice, and Adam's solid, no-nonsense drumming. We know that these boys will give you a great show tonight!

We are also pleased to welcome back The Idiot Boys, who do a laid back and twangy set of originals with plenty of country attitude. These are some fine pickers and real gentlemen, and they don't play just any old show, so don't miss your chance to catch their act in the friendly environs of the Shrunken Head.

As if that weren't already one hell of a show, The Averys and I have convinced our good friend and local legend Billy Zenn to come out and play you a solo set of Country Music. Billy is a living encyclopedia of American music, so we knew he'd be able to serve up a solid Country set and bring a little class to The Ranch Party Round Up. I have had a peek at his set list and can guarantee that he has a great selection of classics for you to enjoy.

Now, even though The Averys will not be playing this show, we will still be on hand to do a little MCing and record spinning for you. There will be the usual Trivia Game, although I still have to find some crappy prizes. The is, as ever, FREE, and starts at 5 PM. Bring yer Mom. Buy her a delicious hamburger and a glass of white wine. Isn't that what Moms drink? We'll see ya' there!
